System Requirements for:
CSG Permit Manager / Microsoft® Access 2003 Runtime Application
Computer/ Processor: Personal or Multimedia computer with a Pentium 4, 2.0 GHz minimum recommended. See requirements for the PC operating system.
Memory: For Windows XP 1GB of memory is required. More memory may be required to run additional applications simultaneously. The more Ram a PC has the faster the program will function. 4GB Ram Minimum recommended for Microsoft Vista, Windows 7 & Windows 8 & 10.
Hard Disk: 200+ MB of available hard-disk space required on the workstation. More space will be required for the data file on a server. See Supported Networks.
Drive: A CD-ROM or compatible DVD-ROM is required to install the program. The application may also be installed from a network server.
Display: VGA or higher-resolution video adapter (Super VGA, 256-color recommended). 800 x 600 minimum screen resolution. 17" + monitor at 1024 x 768 recommended.
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 2003 Server, Microsoft Windows 2008 Server, Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows Vista or Windows 7, 8 or 10. Microsoft Windows 7 or 10 Professional (32 or 64 Bit OS) recommended.
Supported Networks: Microsoft Windows 2003, 2008, 2012 & 2012R. Please refer to your particular version of MS Office for the list of supported networks. All users of the application require full read/write permissions on the shared server directory. Please note that a reliable, fast network is required for the satisfactory performance of a shared database application. A local area network with a dedicated file server is recommended.
The server must be capable of hosting MS SQL Server & a Hardwired LAN is Required
Backup Power Supply: A reliable battery backup power supply and surge protector is required to safeguard not only your computer hardware but is essential in protecting the integrity of the data tables compiled by the Permit Manager. A Backup Power supply must be on the file server and all workstations on which the application will be installed.
File Backup: A reliable file backup routine scheduled to regularly create backup copies of the compiled data tables is required in the event of a hard disk failure or other unforeseen data corruption or loss.
Additional: Permit Manager is available as an MDE file with the MS Access 2003 Runtime files. The purchase of MS Access is not required. Microsoft® Word Version 2002+ & Excel 2002+ (32 Bit) are required for the automated mail merge & report export functions of the application.
The application is NOT compatible with Microsoft®Office (64 Bit)
Other compatibility issues:
There has been an instance where Panini / Silver Bullet check scanning / direct deposit software has prevented Permit Manager from viewing any images in the Image viewer and aerial images in the GIS module. No solution to this problem as of 12.31.16.
